Classen Fuhrmanns & Partner advised BayWa on the acquisition of the wind energy specialist L & L Rotorservice

On December 15, 2011 the Munich-based BayWa AG has acquired a 100 percent interest in the wind energy specialist L & L Rotorservice through its subsidiary BayWa r.e.

The L & L Rotorservice GmbH with its seat in Basdahl (Germany) provides services for wind farms ranging from repair and maintenance through to logistics and transport. The company also operates in the high-potential market of optimisation and repowering where it develops innovative solutions for enhancing the performance of wind energy plants. With its 85 employees, L&L Rotorservice provides support for over 2,000 megawatts (MW) worth of wind power output mainly in Germany.

“This acquisition is an excellent opportunity for us to expand our portfolio of services in the wind power business. We will consistently go down the path of organic growth already embarked on by L & L Rotorservice",

explained Klaus Josef Lutz, Chief Executive Officer of BayWa AG.

The M-DAX-listed BayWa AG is an international trading and services group with

approximately 16,000 employees and locations in 16 countries throughout Europe and the US. The activities of the company group comprise the three core segments of Agriculture, Building Materials and Energy. It has concentrated its entire activities in project management and in the building and operating of wind farms, photovoltaic and biogas plants under BayWa r.e GmbH, a company wholly owned by BayWa AG.

On the side of the BayWa AG and BayWa r.e, the transaction was legally assisted by Classen Fuhrmanns & Partner under the leadership of Dr. Dirk Classen.

Classen Fuhrmanns & Partner started as a spin-off from a boutique specialized on M&A in January 2010, in which the three founding members had worked together as partners for many years. Having conducted a large number of complex, often transnational corporate transactions, Classen Fuhrmanns & Partner is specialized in the area of Mergers and Acquisitions.
