On May 14, 2012 the Surfactor Germany GmbH, a producer of phenol products and melamine films, which are mainly used in the wood-working industry as well as in the furniture, transport and construction industry, has taken over the phenolbased paper overlays business of the Finnish chemical producer Dynea Chemical Oy in Kitee (Finland). By purchasing the paper overlay business, Surfactor Germany GmbH was able to expand its market position in the area of phenolbased surfacing materials.
On the side of the Surfactor Germany GmbH the transaction was legally assisted by Classen Fuhrmanns & Partner under the leadership of Dr. Dirk Classen. Classen Fuhrmanns & Partner primarily gave advice in matters of financing as well as all questions concerning German law.
The partnership had already advised the Kajo Neukirchen GmbH on the acquisition of the Surfactor Germany GmbH (formerly Coveright Surfaces Germany GmbH) in May 2011.
