Founded in 2008 by Franz Duge and Michael Bruck, the company has successfully focussed on the trend of "mass customization". It offers customized chocolate bars (ingredients can be elected by the customers themselves) using blogs and social media tools for customer retention as well as for acquiring new customers.
This business model – with the two founders in 2009 also won the prestigious "Business Week founder of competition" – has convinced the management of Ritter Sport. The established traditional company with headquarters based in Waldenbuch believes in chocri’s success and supports it. Under the motto "Tradition meets modern" Ritter Sport has therefore invested a seven digit amount to participate in one third of chocri. After Franz Duge and Michael Bruck served as mass customization trendsetter for chocolate, Ritter Sport offers them now by its participation the opportunity to expand the company's capacity.
On the side of the chocri, the transaction was legally assisted by Classen Fuhrmanns & Partner under the leadership of Dr. Dirk Classen.
